A look at the history and evolution of centralized accounts and password syncing, starting with NIS and NetInfo, moving to LDAP and Active Directory, passing through Mobile Accounts, continuing with cloud identity providers, and winding up with Apple's PlatformSSO. Along the way we'll encounter problems, solutions, and tradeoffs. We'll look at tools from both Apple and third-parties to help with some of this.
