How do we enrich our Mac Admins community? By giving back! But how? That’s the focus of this workshop. We will discuss why Mac Admins share knowledge (and the related benefits), the common ways we contribute, and practical techniques and considerations regarding methods. We will cover giving presentations, blogging, mentoring, contributing to open source, and other modes of community interaction and sharing. Hands-on examples will include contributing to a repo on GitHub and how to setup a blog.

Any prerequisites: Yes – but optional
Attendees who want to participate in the hands-on portion should bring a laptop computer. A tablet computer, such as an iPad, would also be suitable for most tasks.

Join us at Medlar’s Field for a “ballpark” themed all-you-can-eat picnic dinner and a night to remember. Play the field and network with fellow MacAdmins while watching the State College Spikestake on the West Virginia Black Bears.

We’ll have our own private picnic area, and each attendee will be provided a ticket for a seat in the stands to enjoy the game. If so inspired, partake in half off draft beers at all cash bars throughout the ballpark. So, I use AppleScript. Probably overuse it, to be honest. And, likely, I use it wrong. To me, it's like a Swiss Army hammer that can clobber any situation that needs automation. Presenting Catalyst, a new open-source LAPS implementation meant to make rotating and viewing local admin passwords on Macs easier. Built on an Azure Functions backend, this solution allows admins to view saved passwords in an easy to use web portal instead of digging through Intune Custom Attributes. Native integration with Azure KeyVault allows admins to get previous passwords, ensuring you always have the tools to access your deployed machines. Presentation includes solution details and demo.
